Peter Van Zeller served in both the RAF and the Army during WW2. After landing on D-Day, he was shot in the arm by a sniper while advancing. He received no compensation and no rehabilitation, but was determined to live a full life. "I learned to do everything again. It still takes me an hour to shave, shower, dress and make my bed each day, but I do it.” He passed away aged 99. We will remember him 🥀

Big congratulations to Blesma Member Scott Meenagh on being selected for Team GB at the 2026 Winter Paralympics! 🇬🇧🇬🇧 At just 21, the Paratrooper lost both legs to an IED in Afghanistan's Helmand Province. What he's achieved since is incredible: pioneering British Para Nordic skier, and now heading to his THIRD Paralympics. At 100, D-Day veteran Eric Lucas recalls storming Sword Beach at just 18. “There were bullets flying everywhere. How they missed me, I don’t know" He went on to fight in France and the Netherlands, where shrapnel injuries led to him losing his leg. Thank you 🇬🇧🫡 #Veteran

Last October, Blesma Members headed to the Red Sea for an incredible scuba diving expedition. I remember E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G Some people say the brain protects them by blocking out trauma. For me, it’s all still there - clear as day. And while it hasn’t been easy living with those memories, I’ve learned not to run from them. I’ve learned to face my trauma, understand it, and use it. Because trauma might shape you - but it doesn’t get to own you. #NoLimits
