My 4th & last visit to ONCE IN CONCERT at Theatre Orb. It was really magical and moving. Felt like being back in West End. Wishing all a great last 3 shows, and safe journey home before the typhoon comes, @thedavidhunter@cassidyjanson@JosSlovick@SeanKeany_@AngusTikka et al!
Welcome to rather hot Tokyo, @thedavidhunter@cassidyjanson@JosSlovick and the cast of Once in Concert! I have been looking forward to listening to these beautiful songs once again since the days visiting Phoenix Theatre quite a few times!
About to watch my first ever foreign language production of a musical - 'Sweeney Todd' @delamartheater Amsterdam. Really intrigued and excited! Thanks to @blfonce, whose tweet I randomly saw which led to me being here today! 👍🎭
@LikeTheMonth_@delamartheater Belated happy birthday, great you enjoyed the show! I also liked the way they adapted and the ending! But I don’t speak Dutch either, so sadly don’t remember what was Toby’s line in Dutch at the end… sorry. @delamartheater could you help us by any chance??
@blfonce@delamartheater We did thank you! It was a great experience all round, lovely theatre & really interesting concept & ending (do you happen to remember what Toby was shouting at the end?) I knew the original lyrics enough to follow but was fascinated by the translations.
A nice day-out to Kurihama, where the story of Weidman & Sondheim’s Pacific Overtures is set. Even found a signed poster of its recent revival @P_Overtures that we loved, which was co-produced by and will get a transfer to @MenChocFactory this winter with new UK cast.
@LikeTheMonth_ Ah, in that case, it’s a good one to catch. The lead actor is Belgian, performed in London Les Mis, first as Valjean,(98-2003), then as Javert (2006-10) opposite to JOJ. I understand the leading lady is very popular in Netherlands. I hope you can persuade your family to watch it!
@blfonce Thank you. I am there for 3 nights in May when it is on so I might go, depending on if I can convince my family to see it in Dutch! I am confident I know it well enough to understand most of it anyway.
Our holiday is done. 14 theatre shows, a trip to Downton Abbey (Highclere Castle), and to Amsterdam, also meeting with family and friends. Suitcase is full of memories, theatre programmes and goodies. Hope it’s still under 20kg… Bye London until next time😘
@LikeTheMonth_ Yes, it’s in Dutch and a little differently staged from usual setting of Sweeney Todd. We liked it very much. If you consider going, it’s a limited run to 21 May (& no shows during 8-17 May). You can find the schedule on Delamar Theater website (it may not appear on English page)
