Sprint training doesn't culminate in any meaningful way. You know the difference, so I am not going to debate such a silly point.
The bottom line is the Yankees, as part of MLB, are complicit in the promotion of this tournament as being a major international event. They don't dispute that, so I am not sure why you are?
I am not arguing about whether the Yankees have the contractual authority to limit Bednar, but that their decision to do so is pathetic.

I think I’d be derelict in my duties if I didn’t come to the defense of DeRosa
Do I like him? Not really. Were his pre game comments an awful look? Yeah. Is he the reason why the team lost? Not even close.
The team lost because baseball is a silly sport in small samples.

Can anyone out there recommend a crash course in interpreting pitch shape data? I can read the charts, but struggle to assign goodness or badness to the information I am seeing on them.

Still don't know when Mark DeRosa got the correct information or if the wrong info impacted his decision-making at any point. Those are pretty important pieces of the puzzle.

There’s not a doubt in my mind that after USA beat Mexico that they were under the impression they punched their tickets to the next round. DeRosa’s comments on MLB network, plus pre game that the guys were banged up from partying. How did this happen, completely unacceptable.
