@shipwreckedcrew England Norway is about the same as USA Belgium for me. If Norway shows up and plays a flawless game, they’re competitive. Any and all mistakes and lapses in form will be punished.

They are not "elite." They currently have one of the best 4-5 players in the world. They have one tremendous playmaker in mid-field.
Beyond those two they have a collection of good - not great players. England likely handles them today without a lot of difficulty.
Much like U.S. v. Belgium, England just has better players than Norway with the exception of Haaland.

Norway has only qualified for four World Cups and only one Euro. Yet, they have become an elite football nation. If you have the right discipline, introspection and set up, it can be done. In the US we don’t have that and I’ll just leave it at that.

@shipwreckedcrew They also have a geographic advantage. A ladies away day in the U.S. involves flights, hotels, and other serious logistics. In England, it’s train rides and maybe a bus transfer. Much more of the budget can go towards the product on the field.

Mainly because the owners of the large Euro clubs learned the following lesson:
Little girls want to wear jerseys of their favorite women players too.
Many of the biggest clubs now finance professional women's teams, and those teams fill up stadiums for their matches.
Not the same revenue as Men, but it is a money-generating opportunity for those clubs.
