Of course you are. You’re a commie. So here’s what’s going to happen. More wealthy people are going to skip UofC. You realize a college education is just a commodity right? If I show up to a job interview with a degree from UofC or one from UofH I have my degree. My employer wants to know what I can do, not where I went to school. Any advantage from where you went to school vanishes pretty quickly once you open your mouth in an interview or are asked to complete a test project. Tax payers will increasingly foot the bill for whoever does decide to continue to go to UofC. Those tax payers are people who make all incomes. So now you have taxpayers who make 50k a year funding the education for children of those who make 125k a year. Perfect.

The University of Chicago will guarantee free tuition for students with family incomes below $250,000 starting in Fall 2027. Students with family incomes below $125,000 will also receive free housing and meals.
