Today was my first Christmas Day without either of the people who raised me. I had felt total, paralysing dread in recent weeks. There were plenty of tears early this morning, reflecting on childhood Christmases, realising they weren’t there to call and wish a merry Christmas. But getting to share the day with such kind friends, and doing what I love (being on tv; eating) made it so much easier than expected. Unexpectedly, I feel much stronger to know I can still find joy in days like this. Merry Christmas x
