Our bill was roughly $70, and we added a $20 gratuity, which we believed was reasonable and courteous. However, the waiter refused the tip, suggesting that if we couldn't manage at least $35, we should reconsider dining out. This response was unforeseen and has led me to ponder the evolution of tipping etiquette. While I recognize the importance of tips for service staff, a tip of nearly 30% appears generous. At what point did tipping transition from a voluntary expression of gratitude to an expected minimum??

@CityNewsTO ask councilors why bringing in food program caused cafeteria staff to be laid off in schools. (TDSB) The Catholic board had parents prepare food for kids ( who didn’t have food) those programs were ended. Stoves etc removed. Ask Mayer . Help kids who are starving
