@2smart4u @RaeComm There’s a significant amount of dead wood in the club - eg Rondic, Heintz and Hübers - and while I agree €3m is a lot for Toppmöller, €2-2.5m for him/a decent coach isn‘t outrageous.

@2smart4u @RaeComm Good question. Sell him, but that‘s unlikely to happen for obvious reasons and so maybe a loan … just to get some of the cost off our books. Bülter and Kainz are also top earners. Kainz is retiring, but Bülter’s situation is like Waldschmidt’s. We‘re burning money.

The derby was thrilling but Köln have now gone 7 games without a win & relegation fears are real. Coach Lukas Kwasniok is in a shaky position. As we know, international breaks are often when clubs act.

Internally René Wagner (assistant coach) is highly regarded. Dino Toppmöller is available. Or is it time to bring in classic saviour 72 yo Friedhelm Funkel to get it over the line as in 2021 (saved in relegation playoff) and 2025 (promotion)?
