i think 50/50 only works when both people are actually realistic about what they can give cause relationships are never perfectly balanced all the time. sometimes one person has more money, more time, more emotional capacity or is just in a better position to carry things for a while. the issue is people screaming “50/50” online while still expecting one person to do extra emotional labour, domestic work or traditional gender roles on top of everything else. as long as both people feel appreciated and nobody feels used, that’s what actually matters.
