@dionysusonfire weirdly enough, i like reading books set in summer but not because it's all sunshine and goodness, but because i associate summer w a suffocating environment. it's a great setting for a coming-of-age imo

@grveyardshifts and the author's intent! that is the part that bothers me a lot 😭 since the author obviously wrote it as a cautionary tale against homosexual "deviancy" im female relationships.

@_cielciel my bad, i didn't say what i meant specifically. but you're right. they are usually lumped together with books which are obviously romance-centered, which really irritates me 😭

@blueblossoming i mean, it does have sapphic tones, even if those tones are not romantic whatsoever, and are mostly abusive/toxic. i feel like it's fine to include but with a note that it's not romantic.
