Mia Hopman just joined @apolloaievals as a Member of Technical Staff. When she applied to our Alignment course in 2024, she was a data scientist at a medical device company. In 2021, I almost decided to become a youtuber. I was running events from my childhood bedroom in wales with <10 attendees. I was in (what I considered) a low-status, dead-end community building job. But I now realise it was a kickass training ground for founding a company. 1/6

Luke Daws is the Managing Director of Future Impact Group, an org connecting promising researchers to impactful AI safety projects. In 2023 he was an Australian diplomat and had just returned from a posting to Iran. He took our AI Governance course and came back as a facilitator.
