@newt7215 Picking this up again, as we're having problems with our Puredrive battery since the temp dropped below zero. I'm wondering about wrapping the battery in one of the heated gilet/jackets you can buy. Or using a hot water tank insulation jacket. Anyone tried either of these?

@newt7215 Update. I checked the spec on my Puredrive battery and it's rated to -5 degrees. We're in Scotland. My MG4 said it was -4 at 11.00 last night. Ho hum... It's so obvious that insulation would be a good idea, (I called Puredrive to check) why didn't I think of this before?

Those with solar batteries outside/in out buildings- do you worry about cold temps or insulate them? Mine (3x5.8kWh LFP) are outside in a small shed up the side of the house. They are spread apart from each other as manufacturer’s instructions. A couple of years ago I made (badly) a rudimentary box out of old insolation panels. (I then taped the gaps with Duct Tape, but left some venting gaps.) and then board above so shed junk can go in. Last night/ this morning in minus temps, the batteries were at 11C with a minimum of 8C seeming to be as low as they go. In the summer the temps also stay in a happy place. Anyone else done similar?
