@wilsoem534 I agree, and I think this can be extended even further with the idea of purity being forced onto the controlled where the coin operated boy has to have no experience with girls and Medusa needing to remain "pure"

A2: Coin Operated Boy reverses the trope shown in the myth of Medusa. In the story, a man has total control over a woman. In the song, a woman has total control over a man. They're a perfect partner, because they don't have autonomy or an opinion.

@FatCatLover123 I 100% agree with this, and I think it works even more in favor to Beard's ideas as it shows that the reason women have been suppressed by men is not because women don't wish to suppress men, but because men are so often in a role where they have the power to be a suppresser

This song is similar to Beard's ideas on how women have been suppressed by men and their voice is considered less. The only difference is the roles are reversed. It shows that women can also suppress men. It shows that men aren't the ones who are flawed. Humanity is.

#f2irpi2b To me the song, makes me think an almost reversed of Medusa. Medusa is the coin operated boy and does everything she is told to do by Athena, until she doesn't and Medusa is thrown away. I think this reflects in the line "he may not be real experienced with girls"
