@wilsoem534 I agree, and I think this can be extended even further with the idea of purity being forced onto the controlled where the coin operated boy has to have no experience with girls and Medusa needing to remain "pure"

#f2irpi2b A2: Coin Operated Boy reverses the trope shown in the myth of Medusa. In the story, a man has total control over a woman. In the song, a woman has total control over a man. They're a perfect partner, because they don't have autonomy or an opinion.

@FatCatLover123 I 100% agree with this, and I think it works even more in favor to Beard's ideas as it shows that the reason women have been suppressed by men is not because women don't wish to suppress men, but because men are so often in a role where they have the power to be a suppresser

which means that medusa's abandonment by all the gods, including her matron goddess Athena, and then subsequent death by someone aided by the gods even more evidence of how they saw her as a doll, to be thrown away when they got tired of her or she did something they dislike

this idea of Medusa being a doll can be extended to all the gods, because "mortals and gods would both take notice of Medusa’s beauty" and this can be taken a step farther as there are even variations of Medusa's story where it is said that Poseidon forced himself on her.

#f2irpi2b To me the song, makes me think an almost reversed of Medusa. Medusa is the coin operated boy and does everything she is told to do by Athena, until she doesn't and Medusa is thrown away. I think this reflects in the line "he may not be real experienced with girls"
