🔔 CLOSING BELL | Friday, May 22, 2026
Dow closes at fresh record high • Wall Street posts longest winning streak since 2023 • Iran deal hopes support markets
🔎 Market Overview
U.S. stocks closed higher for the eighth straight week, marking Wall Street’s longest winning streak since December 2023. The Dow Jones continued its rally and finished at a fresh all-time closing high.
Markets were supported by easing pressure in the bond market, lower Treasury yields, and growing optimism around potential progress in U.S.-Iran peace negotiations. Investors reacted positively to signs that diplomatic talks may continue moving forward.
At the same time, geopolitical risks remain elevated. The Strait of Hormuz continues to be the key risk factor for energy prices and inflation. While oil prices eased during the week, markets are once again pricing in additional Fed rate hikes later this year.
