Fast forward, injuries and a poor Roma loan later, that €40m option is basically useless. His value is now around €25m and he’s back injured again. United avoided that scam while Brighton are left holding the bill. Back then, Tottenham, Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester City, Liverpool, Newcastle and even Bayer Leverkusen were all watching, but Brighton’s greedy pricing chased everyone away. Now look at it… all that hype just to end up here. Absolute bullet dodged.
