As we start again the #Holy month of #Ramadan, we cannot avoid stopping with a gasp of #horror at the two recent attacks in Ealing and Egbaston where two elderly men were set on fire whilst walking from their #mosque.

BMSLG are shocked and saddened at the devastating loss of life in the Turkey & Northern Syria earthquake. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of all those affected. We urge people to donate however they can to support the rescue and recovery efforts.

Our Media and Communications task group develops the BMSLG Media & Communications Strategy. This is both to communicate with Muslim communities in Bristol and with the wider Bristol community about the work of BMSLG.

Our Developing Council Services Task Group is to work with the Bristol city council on the services that matter the most to Muslim communities in Bristol.

Our Research Strategy Task Group works with the School of Sociology, Politics, and International Studies at the University of Bristol to develop and implement the BMSLG Research Plan.

Our Health Task Group works with the leadership of the NHS Clinical Commissioning Group South West to ensure policies and service design are sensitive to cultural diversity. This task group also aims to heighten the awareness of different cultural perceptions of mental health.

Our Police Task Group works closely with Avon and Somerset Police on issues that affect Muslim communities mapped on the priorities of A&S in terms of developing relationships and trust as well as genuine diversity in the police force at all levels.

The BMSLG Environment Task Group is passionate about how we can work on and with projects across Bristol where, with a few minutes of our time, we can make a lasting effect.
