God Bless our Vietnam Veterans!!! 🇺🇸 My father served in this war. I have a second cousin ( grandmother’s brother’s son ) that stepped on a land mine in Vietnam and is memorialized on the wall. Thank you to all of our great American military personnel doing their jobs so that we may be free!

After a Gap Down that fails to push lower and then turns back up through the OR High the first target to watch for is the Oops pivot. After that you start to watch for the hallmarks of a trend day to start showing up. The first of which is MINIMAL DIPS that then push higher. The psychology behind that is you have folks with recency bias from the prior session's beating and they want to fade the rally. And they simply provide more buying power as they are forced to cover. After the Oops pivot comes the midpoint. If you can get over the midpoint and flip it to support the trend day further gains steam. If you can go full engulfing and flip the prior day's high into support you have a stampeding situation. Watch for those standout names that can achieve these things. $QQQ $SPY #Oops

Remember when a random longwinded hippy out in Austin said January was the trickiest month of the year🤔😉🤣 Well even a blind squirrel finds a nut sometimes🥜♥️ Goodbye, January & as the great Buddy Guy says..."let the door hit you where the good Lord split you"🤣
Mike Webster@mwebster1971

As we get ready to enter the trickiest month of the year... It's worth pulling up Nasdaq & changing the date to the end of January of each year Focus on the years with setups similar to the current (21 ema > 50 & 50 > 200, etc...) Here are some worth studying, TAKE NOTES! 🧵

The upper trend line combined with today's large volume reversal bar is what I used to reduce my position in CLS at $125 originally bought at $57 with add-ons buys along the way. We can see from the chart that the trendline touched 3 points on a WEEKLY chart which is very important in using this CANSLIM sell rule.

@Invest0104 A 3-4 months+ 3 touch trendline break to the upside often indicates climactic action after an extended advance. It is an important CANSLIM sell rule which is the method I trade.

@Beth_Kindig But SK still has an significant yield advantage in their approach to packaging the die... Not sure if this was what's driving Jensen's comments about HBM competitive landscape

SK Hynix and Samsung are said to be accelerating HBM4 development times by approximately 6 months in order to align with Nvidia’s $NVDA GPU release schedule.

An ordinary scene can turn extraordinary under certain conditions. I've driven by this scene hundreds of times. But the snow covered trees and cloud filled valley made me stop on this day.

@mwebster1971 @marketsurge @IBDinvestors Great discussion Webby! I'm surprised nobody's mentioned the impact of dark pools on intra day volume signatures. Many of the dark pools don't post their trades until after hours some even pre hours. Easy to see this if you look at the first 15 minutes after the market closes.

I'm often given a VERY hard time about my "volume is now dirty data & should be ignored" stance It would take me 3+ hours to explain why I belive it's dirty, but today was a good example of one of the MANY reasons why it's now dirty data Below are the 4 heaviest-traded stocks today ranging in price from $0.05 to $0.23 collectively trading 5.6 Billion shares When I started trading in the '90s (volume was still clean) but keep in mind overtime commissions decreased but in 1999 I was still paying $28 per trade + $0.05 a share! On top of that stocks traded in fractions, typically 1/4 or 1/8 (or $0.25 to $0.125)...yes, some traded in smaller fractions but that wasn't common Put another way...if you wanted to buy a penny stock and turn around & sell it you'd be taking a MASSIVE loss! Therefore, if someone wanted to trade speculative junk that volume was real. Now when you can buy it & sell it 10 minutes later with a penny (or smaller spread) with no commission...is that real buying/selling pressure or is it just a combination of algos & gambling? Anyway, if YOU find that volume helps YOU...use it... but think long and hard about how dirty volume really is...and whether it's really helping you or not🤔

@gmorton512 Love your analysis & like the sales growth but struggle w/ this stock. Will sales growth continue? My informal survey of performance runners and even casual walkers really don't like the floatie feel of the shoe.. Webby made the same comment... How do you trade this off..

I really like how $ONON has formed a 12% deep stage 2 flat base and that as price has tightened into bottom of base, the volume has correspondingly dried up (my red lines drawn in). Hopefully most the sellers are gone, and right side of base can be built on increasing volume. Weekly chart from @marketsurge . Fund ownership keeps growing.

I don't like $BIRK over $ONON, or over $DECK for that matter. Roppel @Upticken teaches to own the leader in the space, it will do 50% better than second place. $ONON is the leader imo, and $DECK is number two. I actually own both those two. I do not need increased risk from a third shoe stock. Plus I see $ONON everywhere I go, and see a fair amt of $DECK Hoka and Ugg. Can't recall the last time I saw someone wearing $BIRK. We actually discussed all three of these stocks at our monthly #canslim meeting at The Stockyard this week. Next meeting is Feb 4 and registration just opened if you desire to attend and learn: meetup.com/the-stockyard/ 10:40 AM · Jan 9, 2025

I want to see a few days tight around the 50sma in $NVDA to work off that liquidation bar from highs and a turn. Something like this:

Study past big winners so you know what to look for in the current winners (price and volume support at 21-day and 50-day areas, climax runs, etc.). O’Neil made over 300% on this one back in ‘99 and sold it right into its climax run. From ‘Monster Stocks’
