Where I am from, they lock ALL local ball fields up. You are left with using local park fields, tennis/basketball courts, and the street in your front yard. #LongToss #Work

Youth development post: I played at Miami Killian HS. And former Blue Jays SS and Killian alum Alex S. Gonzalez was famous for taking basketball court ground balls with tennis balls with his dad during our practices. Even as a veteran big leaguer and his dad getting older - it was their routine and special to them. There was a perfectly good baseball field 15 steps from those courts. It’s something I always remembered and use it with my son. @abarkett17 has probably seen some of those reps. Walk around any youth park in America though, and coaches and dads of 7,8, and 9 year olds think using anything other than a real baseball is for little kids. And perfectly good basketball courts are around and often never used as a resource.

On the way home from the 14U PG National @PGShowcases we met a really nice guy! Looked like he could throw a baseball 95mph so I asked him. It was NFL legend @JevonKearse! Super cool guy! Thank you for stopping for the picture! My dad showed me clips of you later that day. Maybe you couldn’t throw a baseball 95, but you sure could throw a RB down that fast. 🔥🔥 Very nice to have met you!
