@paddyo49 @Caolan_Scully Clayton McMillan may not last?
English

@patmccarry Lowe!! Why? He is on his last legs. TOB or Stockdale
Casey? Too small & Doak provides more options
Keenan will have to fight for his position but good depth apart from 9 & 13
English

Took a crack at selecting a full-strength Ireland XV and here were some of the names that missed out 👇
Hansen, Furlong, O'Brien, Osborne, Baird, Ryan 😵💫
Full piece here ➡️ dirttrackersrugby.substack.com/p/tommy-darrag… ☘️
Also includes some lovely comments from Darragh Murray & Tommy O'Brien 🗣️👏

English

@KieranDuderty @Caolan_Scully One dimensional and tragically kept prime Conan off the team
English

@Caolan_Scully Absolutely class act,and sadly missed!Ireland has always been lucky with back rows, fergus slattery was my hero, but CJ was different gravy!
English

@TheLooseH He got so many games because Schmidt loved him whilst ignoring a far superior player in Conan, who got little game time; McCloskey was another case in point
English

Didn’t someone on some podcast somewhere question why Ireland gave Stander so many minutes?
Did he say something like they shouldn’t have?
Didn’t he say they should have played someone else instead of him?
Even though Stander in his prime was producing these kind of games?
🤷♂️
Caolán Scully@Caolan_Scully
We don’t appreciate just how vital and dominant CJ Stander was in his prime His 2016/17 season was proper leading through action for club and country
English

@balders2 I think you’ll find the policy is not to engage with supercilious English referees such as Carley, Dickson, Pearce and not to forget the headmaster himself Barnes. By so doing, it deprives them of being the centre of attention.
English

@boconnorchest I imagine he “ignored” him because he had next to nothing to question.
English

@balders2 As it happens, Doris was impeccable on Saturday and largely ignored Pearce who, to his credit, had an excellent game
English

@balders2 It was his first game as captain & the manner in which Pearce spoke to him was disgraceful, rather typical for English referees in Irish games. Ireland got an apology from world rugby afterwards.
English

@OfficerDave2 @AllBlacks Exactly that; I still need counselling!
I was at the second quarter-final of the following night also; the French were equally in shock
English

@AllBlacks I was there in France. THE most intense and thrilling match I’ve ever witnessed. The hope for us Irish, the doubt for NZ, the agony then in the final third of that match! I sat in my seat absolutely spent after the final whistle. Still haven’t watch the game back on TV 😭
English

This was nearly the cover of Saturday’s 24-page @ExaminerSport. Find the ‘deliberate’ mistake.😡

English

@GoodStuffLawson @Murray_Kinsella Luke “mate” Pearce? Only the English think he’s the best.
English

@Murray_Kinsella One of the absolute best there is. Wishing for a great game. Not known for loving chat from players… 🤫
English

@Murray_Kinsella Awful, another English referee overblown by English media, chastised for his patronising and dismissive behaviour towards Doris in SA; Luke “mate” Pearce will not be good for Ireland
English

@eastcoast636 @patmccarry Aki will be over the hill come RWC 27; brilliant as he has been, he is one dimensional and can only play the 12 role; I have never seen the value of him on the bench, notwithstanding Cardiff last year. He has been poor this year. Doak instead of Casey
English

@boconnorchest @scrumming_ten I’m sure you’ll be very happy together.
English

@WorldWatchTM @scrumming_ten No that’s rude & unfair, @scrumming_ten is a pleasant chap; I enjoy his tongue in cheek posts
English

@PaulJohnDykes His derogatory comments about Keith Andrews made him less lovable
English

@CharlieGLusaka @jabberwock951 Well, builders and delivery companies are not renowned for keeping to punctual schedules; so in terms of timekeeping, probably a reasonable comparison
English

@jabberwock951 Re waiting for a builder and a delivery: can you see what the difference is there?
English

@j_macgeever So what’s your prediction for the trip to Rome? Another comfortable England win?.
Would you regard it as a hilarious take to suggest that England might end up with only one win from five in 6N?
English

@boconnorchest England will also beat Ireland comfortably.
English

😂😂😂😂😂😂. I’ve seen some
Bad takes but this is hilarious 🤣
Dr Brian O'Connor@boconnorchest
@OGHustle_Rugby @SBarnesRugby Only France, Italy, Argentina& SA on the ascent; England stalled; NZ in a downhill vortex; Australia in free fall; Scotland who knows but not ascending & as for Wales🤷♂️ Ireland doing okay but not great
English
