To create an alternative App Store you have to: "Provide Apple a stand-by letter of credit from an A-rated financial Institution of €1,000,000 to establish adequate financial means in order to guarantee support for your developers and users." 🤣

Apple's plan to thwart Europe's new Digital Markets Act law is a devious new instance of Malicious Compliance. They are forcing developers to choose between App Store exclusivity and the store terms, which will be illegal under DMA, or accept a new also-illegal anticompetitive scheme rife with new Junk Fees on downloads and new Apple taxes on payments they don't process. Apple proposes that it can choose which stores are allowed to compete with their App Store. They could block Epic from launching the Epic Games Store and distributing Fortnite through it, for example, or block Microsoft, Valve, Good Old Games, or new entrants. The Epic Games Store is the #7 software store in the world (behind the 3 console stores, 2 mobile stores, and Steam on PC). We're determined to launch on iOS and Android and enter the competition to become the #1 multi-platform software store, on the foundation of payment competition, 0%-12% fees, and exclusive games like Fortnite. Epic has always supported the notion of Apple notarization and malware scanning for apps, but we strongly reject Apple's twisting this process to undermine competition and continue imposing Apple taxes on transactions they're not involved in. There's a lot more hot garbage in Apple's announcement. It will take more time to parse both the written and unwritten parts of this new horror show, so stay tuned.

@fabioCollini Great read. Once again. Not a compose-user yet, but I'm curious if derivedStateOf {} could be used instead?

@_provoco @orafaaraujo @cesards_ @igorwojda The only correct thing about my code is that it fits the specific use case (a non-empty list), but it does not fit the model-design (Survey). Regarding my code (Survey-class) it's wrong in so many ways that it won't ever fit in one tweet.

This is an interesting modeling problem. Imagine you want to model a Survey that can have any number of questions, but it has to have at least one question. How would you model that in code? Split the list: #coding #programming

I can't decide. Should I try out androidx.core-ktx 1.4.0-alpha01 or 1.5.0-alpha01? Two alpha01's. What's that about?

Kotlin is designed to reduce boilerplate that developers have to write. Less ceremony, more substance. That is my personal view of Kotlin’s mission. The challenge is to design generic language features that can be safely used across various domains with different libraries.

Dagger 2.23 turns off formatting by default so your build is faster, but has a flag to turn it back on if you'd like. It also brings bug fixes and a more flexible dagger.android API that will allow for more androidx support github.com/google/dagger/…

Are you a @gradle expert and want to contribute to an open source project? The @MockitoJava coverage computation with Jacoco has been broken by our recent upgrade to Gradle 5. We would very much welcome a community PR for this issue! github.com/mockito/mockit…
