Samuel Ajayi Crowther was the first African Anglican bishop, consecrated at Canterbury in 1864 & honoured with a doctorate from Oxford. He documented the Igbo language, published an Igbo primer in 1857. A Yoruba man who shaped the spiritual & linguistic history of an entire tribe

Horses were so expensive that only Yorubas & Northerners could afford them. That exclusivity became culture. Ojude Oba in Ijebu & other Yoruba festivals and the North. You will not see horse festivals like that anywhere else in Nigeria. That is not coincidence. That is old money

Yoruba traders were moving kola nuts, leather, iron tools, woven cloth, ivory and glass across West Africa centuries before modern commerce existed. The Oyo Empire controlled the trade routes. Yoruba women controlled the markets. The economy was not informal. It was engineered.

As someone with short memory and research laziness, you might not be in the know about Obi's strides in government. I don't have anything against Makinde, I'd rather have him over the disaster in power currently. But as far as I'm concerned, Peter Obi remains the most competent in the ballot.

They tried to come for me, reported my account, just for promoting my culture, my identity 😕. But unfortunately for them - Facts are stubborn. We are just getting started.

BREAKING: "Outsider Steps Down" – Lawrence Iyere, Non-Indigene Who Sought to Lord Over Yoruba Owners of Oshodi/Isolo, Steps Aside for Bonafide Son Taiwo Ayedun Hon. Iyere, the non-indigene aspirant who wanted to lord over the good Yoruba owners of Oshodi/Isolo Federal Constituency I, has stepped down. He has cleared the path for Hon. Taiwo Ayedun (Shanana), a bonafide Yoruba son, to represent the constituency. The decision comes after intense backlash and the realization that Yoruba voters will not surrender their political future to outsiders. The decision has been met with relief and celebration among Yoruba residents who refused to surrender their political seat to an outsider. Iyere's withdrawal sends a strong message: Yoruba land will not be colonized.

Please get the news correctly.😂 The South West Development Commission has secured a provisional rail operating and track access licence from the Nigerian Railway Corporation. It means the NRC has given them permission to operate on existing railway infrastructure. So, the SWDC may: ✓ procure or lease its own coaches and locomotives, ✓ manage schedules and routes, ✓ invest in terminals or logistics hubs, ✓ perhaps rehabilitate dormant narrow-gauge corridors.

If you have ever drank water from a Yoruba clay pot you'll have one thing to say about it. Cold. Unreasonably cold on the hottest day. No electricity. No refrigeration. Yoruba people engineered temperature control into earthen clay centuries ago. Fridge who?

@abdullahayofel He said it.We are not going to be distracted by the green energy wave, no country in the world is fully practicing it yet.To him, “green energy” is mostly hype media propaganda packaged as global morality while the biggest powers still run on oil, gas, and coal

Yoruba had two separate tools for two separate purposes. The Ijabe for whisking ewedu and gbegiri. The Igbale for sweeping the compound. Ignorant people confuse both. A civilization that engineers a distinct tool for every task does not make that kind of mistake.

Ketu, now in modern day Benin Republic, is one of the oldest Yoruba kingdoms, founded by a descendant of Oduduwa and ruled by the Alaketu to this day. Yoruba civilization did not stop at the Nigerian border. It was always bigger than the map colonialism drew around it.
