Everyone wants a perfect voice AI agent but no one wants to spend days on the part that makes it perfect! The weeks between the concept of an agent, the prompt engineering, the tuning of it all is a tedious process that creates a barrier in shipping voice AI agents for India Inc. At Bolna, we have been quietly working on that gap. Something is brewing here! Are you ready? @xan_ps @maitreya_wagh @siddharth17 @web_havvv

2 years ago, we handled just 150 phone calls in an entire week at @bolna_dev. Last week, we handled ~6.5 million. That's a 35,000x increase. Looking at this, it's easy to think there was one breakthrough. There wasn't. It were thousands of iterations, compounding over time.

demoed @bolna_dev at the ai builders meetup by @NexusVP :) created an agent with bolna skills, let it take a gloriously buggy call, then fixed it all live with skills too. no dashboards were harmed. thank you @FrontierAmrut for hosting, got to meet so many cool folks

BolnaMonitor - real-time drift detection for Bolna's ASR → LLM → TTS pipelines. Across 20+ provider combos and 10+ languages, one degrading combo affects thousands of calls before anyone notices. This detects it in ~30 min using Bolna's existing webhook data. Zero code changes needed. → Z-score drift alerts (per combo, not global) → Error rate + absolute latency thresholds → Live sparkline dashboard Live demo: bolna-monitor.onrender.com GitHub: github.com/lazerbeam47/Bo… @bolna_dev @maitreya_wagh @xan_ps - Excited by what Bolna is building for India's voice stack - happy to chat / contribute / integrate further! #VoiceAI #Bolna #LLM #Observability

so i built a tool using @bolna_dev that runs this trap on voice agents and grades them with real air traffic control rules. no llm judging another llm, just a parser and the same rulebook real pilots fly by. tested it live on an actual phone call. github.com/tanisha-byte/r…

In Voice AI, the rules for what to build get rewritten every single day. And they all trace back to one frustrated builder reading docs at 2am, pressure testing agents that don't do what they should. If that's you, come break @bolna_dev 20+ monthly features before they ship 👇

Bolna now supports Soniox v5 as a streaming transcriber. Powered by its real-time stt-rt-v5 model, it transcribes whatever's spoken on a single connection, including mid-sentence switches between English and multiple regional languages with no per-language switching needed. It brings native code-switching, semantic endpoint detection for natural turn-taking, per-token language identification, and support for both telephony and web calls. Select Soniox v5 in the Audio tab on the playground and choose auto-detect or a specific language to get started. @soniox_ai

India has rich linguistic diversity, and it is just as complex. And Voice AI deployments in the country are struggling to keep up with all the edge cases this complexity brings. Our Founder & CTO, Prateek Sachan, spoke with Arushi Agarwal at @IStartupTimes about how @bolna_dev is building to solve this very problem statement. He talks about why multilingualism isn't merely a feature but the very foundation the organisation is being built on and why solving it for India also means solving it for a lot of other markets, too. “Our goal is to make voice AI as simple and accessible as possible so that anyone can build and deploy high-quality conversational experiences,” he said.

Bolna (YC F25) has a new space to call home! When the team grows at a rate that outpaces the existing floor space, we have to find a bigger room for everyone to fit in, collaborate, and build together. Our new HQ in Bengaluru matches the energy, ambition, and pace at which we are building Voice AI for India. The zeal in this room is unlike anything we've seen. Every hire, every sprint, every late-night push is proof that it's still Day 1 here and we are only getting started. Special shoutout to @2gethr_official for swiftly helping us out with an incredible space and to @gather_town for a seamless virtual office experience. And thank you, Renuka, our HR, for making our showing up worth it every day. We're building this together, and we want more builders in the room. Come grab a front row seat with us.

We just wrapped Voc-A-Thon and the room left its mark. Builders from spaces like @Walmart, @Oracle , @Microsoft, @gokwik, @Razorpay, SuperBryn, @Fujitsu_Global, and @Vobiz_Ai came together with a shared resolve to build for real life problems for the diverse Indian demography — the catch being adapting these solutions with voice AI interactions that felt human and intuitive, unlike most robotic voice AI agents available in the market. The floor opened to incredible pitches through the day buzzed with the energy of innovation. Think of a gynaec's clinic which could give women freedom to schedule their appointments privately, a blue-collar worker with no resume but a keypad phone, caregiving for an aging parent living miles away from their kids or the information of a rare blood type going unfound while every minute counts. All real problems, very human, important and mostly urgent ones. The fact that every bit of these prototypes were built by people who've spent years crafting good products through the years, and chose to apply that lens to voice AI adaptations elevated the solutions further. The builds powered by @bolna_dev stack and @cartesia voice models undoubtedly added to the seamless deployment of the same. Would you want to hear more of what was built in the room? Comment if you want a Voc-A-Thon Wall of Love featuring these.
