Youth unemployment is at 15.2%, with young women facing a record joblessness rate of 18.7%. More than 30% of those who died by suicide in 2024 (latest NCRB data) were daily wage labourers. 40 crore Indians are one medical bill away from bankruptcy. These aren’t conjured up statistics. They are the reality that is driving young people to sign up to what started off as a meme page. Our frustration is real, our political anger is real, and any party that dismisses it does so at its own peril.
