If Scotland had been independent it would not have shut down its only oil refinery, it would have diverted oil from its own oil fields to lower the prices at the pumps. Scottish Sovergienty would have stopped the multi-national companies (that do not pay their fair share of taxes to the UK) from selling any abroad before Scotlands needs were met.
