Why does a market predicting the winner of a tennis match need to have "Other" as an option when using AI resolution? The current AI resolution mechanism is built around three types of markets: 1⃣ Binary markets: Yes or No 2⃣ Numeric markets: for example, BTC > $80,000 3⃣ Multiple-outcome markets At first glance, a tennis match seems simple: there are only two realistic outcomes: Player A wins or Player B wins. You could argue that “Other” does not really make sense here. But now imagine a market predicting the leader of a Billboard chart, or the movie with the highest box office revenue on a given weekend. The number of possible outcomes could easily reach 10 or more, making the market difficult to read and work with. That is why, even if “Other” does not always seem necessary, it is important to have it as a fallback option. Otherwise, users could get rekt if they bet on Player A or Player B, but the match is cancelled due to weather, for example. In this market: prophecy.social/event/14348 I actually bet on Other because it was raining heavily in Zagreb, and the match had been suspended on Friday already. But, alas, the sun did shine, and the match took place today.
