The point this is trying to make is that kind and well meaning people with healthy thoughts for themselves and the world around them, i.e. "Good thoughts", don't need to look attractive or conventionally pretty, or even conventionally NORMAL to be lovely. They already ARE.

Everyone's misinterpreting this cuz this was never about judging others' personality from their looks, but about not worrying how you YOURSELF look Notice how it refers to YOU in last paragraphs. If YOU are a joyful person to be around, most will put your "ugly" features aside
