@DaBlackB2 @MaximeYoan70797 Many do, many don't, abuse don't justify murder, but it leaves you with psychological trauma that affects your logical and rational thinking. They feared after they perceived what they thought was threats. They acted. 35 years is more than enough for imperfect self defence.

@Tuesday_Tells @kimpossible5323 Exactly. What people fail to realise is a lot of things happened within that week that made them fear. They didnt just pick up shot guns and decided to do what they did. Key things happened. It's all honestly sad. 4 victims 4 perpetrators.

My take on #menendezbrothers : I believe they were abused on all levels. I believe their mother knew. I don't believe they thought their lives were in imminent danger. I think their lives were unbearable, they were hurt, angry, fed up and it was a revenge killing. 😳

@borderlinehxe @Tuesday_Tells Blurred lines? These kids were relentlessly abused. They went to a store, bought some guns, and shot their abusers, tried to cover it up, they got caught. It's pretty cut and dry. They've spent 30 years in prison for their crimes, and it's time they're released.

@TX2005TX There's many go do some research you'll come across many people who have served less time where they have used abuse in their defence.

@borderlinehxe Can you show me a similar case where it was used as a defense in a crime and murder execution like this and they got less time???

The #MenendezBrothers is total privileged bullshit How many people are behind bars where sexual abuse wasn’t a defense for them. But now it’s a defense for premeditated murder and these 2 should be let out??? No wonder this country has lost its morals and logic. #Dateline

@Lou151301 @flutiefan Lyle Wanted Erik to move to Princeton to live with him, it was Erik that was too scared to leave, he knew he wouldn't of been believed, he didn't think there was anywhere he would be safe. Erik still says to this day he feels safer in prison then he ever did in his families home.

Peoole need to understand the abuse was NEVER AN EXCUSE TO MURDER it was an explanation to HOW and WHY they came to believe their lives was in danger. #dateline

@Lou151301 @flutiefan What was they going to do after they left? Erik has ran away before, he got brought straight back. These men were conditioned to be helpless, had no sense of the real world, Erik didn't even know how to deposit into his bank his aunt had to do that for him.

@Lou151301 @flutiefan I think you're spot on, I think you should go to a abused persons support group and lecture them on how they should of left sooner. You seem so clued up 🙄

@mmmadWORLDDD You mean they got caught up doing it with other people who was doing it also, and they had a guilty conscious and return said stuff.. but to the wrong address hence why they was caught... doesn't make it right but atleast if your going to make a claim get your facts right

Abuse doesn’t give the Menendez Brothers a free pass to murder, it just provides a motive. Keep ‘em locked up! #dateline

@pantoufle1010 @DatelineNBC Agreed. Although I’d also like to see some grace extended to Kitty, who — even if she did know about the abuse — may have not confronted her husband because she was *also* afraid of him. It seems that some excuse her murder by assuming that she was as evil as Jose. #Dateline

@DatelineNBC, this episode makes it clear that people can have multiple narratives — the brothers can be sexual abuse victims AND spoiled rich kids who lied frequently and were fine with burglarizing their friends’ parents’ homes. 🤷🏾‍♂️ #Dateline
