Trey Miguel's AEW release has been compared to Jay Briscoe not being allowed on TV. "It does appear to be very much like the Jay Briscoe situation, where Jay Briscoe said things, he apologised, did everything he could to try to make it right, and it didn’t matter. WBD was not going to allow him on the programming, and they never did. My understanding is there was a period around 2020 where AEW was gonna bring him [Trey] in. For the same reason, he was not allowed to be brought in. Maybe Tony thought five years later, six years later, well we’ll sign him. Turns out that wasn’t going to fly." Trey Miguel’s AEW release reportedly “came from up above” but had nothing to do with any talent or Tony Khan: “No one's really saying much. Well, some people are saying certain things, but my understanding is whatever it is, it came from up above. I know there’s a lot of rumours but it had nothing to do with anybody in AEW talent, anything like that, or Tony (Khan). Something happened from way up and he was released. That is what we know at this point about Trey Miguel." - Bryan Alvarez (WOR | @WONF4W)
