Built BotTrace for the @BOTChain_ai Builder Challenge. AI agents are starting to call tools, spend funds, and touch smart contracts, but most of them still lack a trustworthy audit trail. BotTrace is a flight recorder for autonomous agents on BOT Chain. Each agent action becomes a cryptographic receipt: >intent >policy decision >tool call >cost + result hashes >on-chain proof The private details can stay off-chain, while the receipt digest is anchored on BOT Chain for public verification. For builders, this means agent activity can be checked after the fact: >Did the agent follow its policy? >Did it call the expected tool? >Can we prove the output matches the recorded execution? spent the last week building an AI trading agent on BOT Chain, then spent the next few days trying to break it. kept feeding it prompt injections, poisoned instructions, and malicious goals. it never once approved a bad transaction. the problem is obvious once you actually try: the model is doing the deciding. if it ever gets tricked, it signs whatever you want. so i built Warden — a simple on-chain policy firewall for agents. the agent (gemini 2.5 flash) can only propose actions as JSON. it never touches keys. everything has to go through screenAndExecute on WardenGuard.sol. the contract checks against a few rules before anything moves: • spend caps + daily limits • token & destination allowlists • chain lock + cooldown • slippage • and injection tripwire big detail i’m actually proud of: when something violates the rules, it doesn’t revert. it emits a Decision(allowed=false, reason) event and just does nothing. you still get the full audit trail on-chain instead of losing the log. live on @BOTChain_ai testnet (chain 968). you can see the real blocked txs on the explorer. code: github.com/zenweb3/warden
