This is going to be long, but I've seen posts talking about how the people who hated SFA don't have legitimate grievances beyond "it's woke" and Star Trek has always been woke. So let me explain everything wrong with it. Let's start with the lense flair. Completely unnecessary and critically panned in the first Abram's movie. People hate that shit. It's annoying. Next, the worst plot line of Disco besides the entire existence of the ship itself. The Burn, absolutely stupid. All the dilithium detonated because an autistic alien missed his mommy, blowing up all space ships. That's the plot point of what happened. And speaking of the ships. They're not well designed at all. Detached hulls are stupid in a show that literally uses transporters being down as a plot point to build tension. Wifi warp is stupid too. And speaking of warp, how does the titular ship of the show the USS Athena have the ability to go to warp without its war necells? And even without its engineering hull? But trust the space magic. Now let's get into more reasons why the show was bad. The characters, every single cadet has some form of daddy or mommy issues. Literally every single one. Next, why the hell would Star fleet allow someone in a wheel chair in star fleet? No away missions, no access to anything overhead to include critical systems during an emergency that need to be repaired, I guess the ship just blows up and everyone dies because inclusivity is what matters. And let's ignore the entirety of the medical advancements that Star Fleet has. How is everyone either anorexic, morbidly obese or on steroids? And my God the plot. It's school with no schooling actually happening, it focuses mostly on how gay the characters are or how much they have parental issues. And I'm not even going to harp on how the most Klingon person in the show was a fat Jem Hadar woman that was half Klingon somehow. Because this leads to the next issue. The absolutely fuck you to established lore of Star Trek. The fuck everything we have because we want to make our show mentality of this show. The Betazoid president is deaf and uses ASL to be translated through a Bluetooth speaker. When Trek first had Klingons speaking in Klingon they made an entire language. Betazed uses hand signals developed by humans 1500 years before this show happens. Everything is trash in this show and some how they managed to take yet another half Klingon character and make him the bad guy because he once again.... Has daddy issues. Fuck. Does Alex Kurtzman need to speak to his father?

If the far left watched this show it wouldn't have the ratings it does. Your question answers itself when you actually look at the question. Many people who grew up on TNG, DS9 and Voyager hate this show. Watch DS9's episode "In the Pale Moonlight". Season 6 episode 19. Probably the best writing Star Trek has ever seen.
