@FoW_Games also the association between lowpoly ps1 environments and pixel-art was very satisfying as well, I wouldn't have minded monsters with a different treatment, it works !

@FoW_Games It is a loss that you moved away from the pixel art, to have that with your awesome mechanics gave awesome personality. To optimize away from voxels, there are very cheap methods to achieve the same quality with simple polygons, and you're great at pixel art, no need to hire.

@CharlesBoury Question for you, what makes you pivot to Godot, after your experience with Caravan SandWitch on Unreal with Lumen ? I'm a Godot user and kinda jealous of Unreal's GI solutions, and not sure if I can get what I want with Godot's GI

@cuntfriedrice thats how I found my life partner, she's highly dyslexic and didnt want to write, she preferred a bumble video call, the rest is history

@FreyaHolmer i'd say Off Axis is better for tiny taskbar icons, the negative space btw the elements is more balanced than the others, with the hooks more equidistant to the vertices. Maybe have the hooks a teeny bit thinner

@CoreyBrickley Its not trying to be as impressive and energetic as Fury Road, it's more niche, it often has a more "oldtimey studio expressionist" vibe, with a graphic novel structure, cut into chapters, and the camera acts even more as a comicbook panel. The story is denser and spans over 15y

@PhilosophyCuck Ed Zitron's Bubble Trouble article speaks of GenAI outputs as "data hallucinations", and it describes quite well the uncannyness of GenAI, and even though the point of it is to call out garbage erroneous data, some people exploit this hallucinatory element to cool outcomes

@PhilosophyCuck There are many tbh, some people have genuinely cool ideas that fit well with the specific workings of GenAI, but "engaging" doesn't mean "ethically made", and knowing about fucked up art processes tends to put me off from the result, however well-made.

There is an infinite amount of bad AI art out there, but what are some examples of things done using AI methods that you actually find interesting or aesthetically valuable?

J’ai une copine instit en primaire qui, lasse, a décidé d’inviter dans sa classe la mère d’un élève qui se plaignait d’elle et de ce qu’elle lui disait de son fils. La mère a accepté. Elle est venue hier matin pour assister à la classe au fond de la salle. 1/2

La mère est sortie de la salle de classe au bout de 2h en pleurant. Consolée par la directrice, elle a réussi à dire « je n’aurais jamais imaginé qu’il était comme ça. C’est horrible. Il est horrible. » 2/2

@FedeItaliano76 Large langage models outputs are basically denoisers, like those used in CGI, to reduce the noise of raytracing. They train them on existing images, increasing the noise on them until theyre able to reconstruct the image out of pure grey noise. Its a denoiser with stolen memory.

@FedeItaliano76 Just theft. Art IS craftsmanship and IA cannot do what artists do, like 3d printers cannot weld or saw or carve, they can just blurt a specific material from a motorized arm that blindly follows a blueprint made by someone else

@Cy_lindric Very niche/specific music in my ears + analog writing, no screens. It works super well for me, the headset isolates me from surroundings, music is close to what id want for the project and puts me in the mood instead of distracting me, and screenless pen&paper isolates me as well

Maybe I should just print out my script and go full analog for this tbh

I'm back to thumbnailing/storyboarding for the second half of my comic and I find it so difficult to focus during that part of the process since I can't listen to anything while I'm working...guys what are your focusing tricks that don't involve a prescription

Roberts dit qu'elle est restée professionnelle, qu'elle n'a pas fait de crises ou quoi, donc si elle dit la vérité ca reste étrange comme relation entre les deux

@Meeea @LDeQ_Twitch Ça reste assez vague genre, on sait pas trop ce qui s'est passé. Ça donne l'impression que Spielberg s'est défoulé sur elle pour vent off la pression du tournage, et s'est fait une version ensuite; et ici Roberts a pas envie de faire trop de vagues et reste allusive sur les faits
