@michaeltemkin @ALadyNamedKatie And we got our son a drum set for the holidays. He’s been learning “Seven Nation Army” with his drum teacher. Neighbors love us!!

@michaeltemkin @ALadyNamedKatie My 9 year old’s self curated favorites playlist. Pretty proud of the mix, sans a few here and there, but we try to do a lot of music discovery. That translates to my 3 year old no longer listening to toddler music. That’s a win.

@JetPhotos @flightradar24 Pretty lame. Looks like it was watered down by committee.

@MojoMariner OH shit, hadn’t seen that anywhere. RIP AAAA king

@michaeltemkin @MrMatthewTodd Come visit. We’ll sell you on the idea, but you gotta be ready for the chill life because everything is chill, like the speed of processing anything at all (our immigration application for one)
English

@bowenpayson @MrMatthewTodd I could imagine Portugal. Seems to be immune to the insanity taking over the world and if I find a remote enough village I can escape. I had originally thought New Zealand but it seems they have their own issues.
English

@michaeltemkin @MrMatthewTodd Remote village? There are aplenty and it’s just waiting for you!!! Portugal has one of the better tax policies for immigrants, especially if you legalize a startup here.
We live in Cascais, a nice Lisbon suburb. It’s like Marin compared to SF, but more of a mosaic of people.
English

@michaeltemkin @MrMatthewTodd Portugal is pretty fantastic. Good weather (winters are very wet), great fresh and local foods (1L fresh squeezed orange juice 3€), super nice and genuine people, chill pace of life, low/no crime, no guns, and good global/Europe access. Language is surprisingly difficult though
English

@MrMatthewTodd Only question is to where? Haven’t been able to answer that.
English

@charuman Very cool. Pretty photos.
We’ve settled in Cascais Portugal, kids enrolled in school here, and we’re enjoying a simplified lifestyle.
English

@mnolangray Kinda absurd to think that an architectural plan for an ADU would cost 20-30k. I think that’s an exaggeration. If SF, we paid $4800 for architectural plans for a basement buildout which included new foundations and bringing the house up to earthquake code.
English

@tomaspueyo @simongerman600 Still all comes down to policy decisions.
English

@MarinersONTap @JeffPassan is hungry to post something in the dearth of any baseball excitement.

Mariners make a move & I’m not sure if it’s worthy of a Passan tweet, but here it is:
Jeff Passan@JeffPassan
Right-hander Randy Dobnak and the Seattle Mariners are in agreement on a minor league deal with an invitation to spring training, sources tell ESPN. Dobnak, 30, has pitched in parts of five seasons for Minnesota and has a career ERA of 4.86 over 140.2 innings.

@mnolangray @cayimby Read this article today about a bike path in LA. How are "environmental impact reports" necessary for projects that will will remove dependency on larger environment (aka surrounding roads)? How can this bureaucracy be reformed? sfgate.com/la/article/la-…
English

@The_Couch_GM What could you expect in return? Another Mitch Haniger?
English

By trading Luis Castillo this offseason, the Mariners can free up ~$23.15 million for the 2026 season, & $48.3M-$73.3M in total with the remainder of his contract. His no trade clause is up 1/1/26.
Logan Evans would slot into the #5 spot of the rotation on opening day, and at some point in the 2nd half you could assume LHP Kade Anderson and/ or SHP Jurrangelo Cijntje would have a role as well.
