@MatthewCruises @cunardline Have a great cruise. Alaska is amazing, spend time on deck or balcony to enjoy the whales, marine life ( Sea otters near the galaciers) and listen for the thunder across the water from calving tide water glaciers. the sunsets. Prepare for all weather. A great land indeed🏔️!

Here's a quick recap of our long haul flight from Dublin to Seattle 🇺🇸✈️ Our flight took 9 hours 23 mins from gate to gate and we didn't find it all too bad!

Hello @premierinn - yesterday I booked a stay in one of your hotels and you charged my card twice, leaving me with no money to buy food or pay my electricity bill. I notified you immediately. After nearly 24 hours I am being told that it will take five days to refund. This ...

@DougieCoullPix Its an interesting and enjoyable museum Dougie with some great subjects to photograph. Here are my best efforts there on a bright September day. Ships, boats, landscapes, seascapes, cityscapes & aircraft are my preferred subject.

Se oli hyvinkin pitkälti siinä. 32 vuotta, 21403 h, 144 Atlantin ylitystä, 36 pohjoisnavan ohitusta, tuhansia valvottuja öitä, hienoja kollegoita, upeita matkustajia, mahtavia kohteita ja kokemuksia. Enpä olisi osannut enempää toivoa. Nyt kohti uusia tuulia.

@BilGriffith Very much so. As you probably know both on the passenger ships and on the airliners the crew are good at looking after the little ones, especially if they are well behaved😉.

@box_david My sister and I knew the route of the tea trolley and we would station ourselves at the next station for another cookie. The crew good naturally handed them out to us. Good memories

In just six months the USCG would discontinue using the lightship Ambrose off of Sandy Hook however in April of 1952 I remember passing it on the Queen Elizabeth. Today it is at the Fulton Seaport. These pictures were taken 74 years apart

@BilGriffith Aha, - 3 funnels is the giveaway. However an equally fine ship, better liked by her crews apparently, when compared to the Queen Elizabeth. Fortunate to visit Queen Mary at Long Beach about 45 years ago, & much enjoyed the visit. Times are not so easy for her nowadays reportedly.

Wow that’s an impressive ship!!Actually I was misspoken I saw the Ambrose from the deck of the Queen Mary in April 1952. This picture is taken from a tender that picked us up from the Queen Mary off of Cherbourg France. I believe that we used a tender there because the docks were still messed up from WW2. We returned to New York on the Queen Elizabeth

Keep your wits about you Britain. Landlords have to send this PDF to tenants by the end of May, or face a £7,000 fine. I wonder how many small landlords will miss this and be fined? Everyone will chalk it up to the government trying to find a way to squeeze the public for cash. And will they be completely wrong? gov.uk/government/pub…

. @AirCanada just decided to separate my wife and me on our upcoming overseas flight. We had bought and paid for adjoining seats. Now, one week before departure, they notified me that they’re changing MY seat and moving me 12 rows back. No explanation, no apology. Unacceptable.

@higgyboson Tipping is the custom in the US, if you sit down to eat you add at least 15% to the bill for service. If you cannot afford or unwilling to pay, just don't sit down. This isn't hard.

Sorry but I really don't want to pay an extra 20% in addition to the actual bill when eating at a restaurant. The excuse that "we bust a gut to serve you" is utterly ridiculous. I don't expect to pay an extra 20% for a pint in a pub just for the pleasure of seeing someone "bust a gut" pouring it into a glass. I've never been asked to pay an extra 20% when buying a carton of grapes in co-op because the staff have "bust a gut" to put them in the cool cabinet. I've never had an extra 20% added to the bill when getting my van serviced by the mechanic who "bust a gut" changing the oil. And I've never added 20% to the invoice for painting someones house. "Yes Mrs Scoggins, I know I wrote £1,000 on the quote but I bust a gut painting your kitchen so added an extra £200". Why are people whose only skill is taking a plate of food from one room to another expecting to be given extra money from the customer? It's mad. I'm not playing that stupid game.

@antoniogm Even the fking airport bus is like $30 per person. You cannot eat a single meal in a normal resto for under $20, maybe at best you can get a Kebab sandwich for $15-20. Otherwise just eat from grocery stores, like bread and cheese. Thats what I did. Do any activity, $100 min

@cg_geometry @antoniogm Plan and research. Book ahead. Iceland is not cheap but very enjoyable and worthwhile. Magnificent scenery, unique attractions, helpful people and not to be missed. Lots of good food too. They don’t gouge, costs are the way it is on a remote island at the edge of the Arctic.
