Understand your feelings, hard to accept that when you are an ardent supporter of CSK.
Not defending his actions, i am saying it comes from a place of competing on the field and only natural to emote.
He will learn to ration it, but the high a player gets while putting it past a team like CSK, at their own den is so hard for people on the outside to fathom.
In many ways it’s a compliment to what the franchise and fans have managed to create over the years.
@ashwinravi99 Dear Ash, I saw you mentioning in your podcast that CSK fans need to take Ishan's gestures sportively - However I find it unacceptable for a player to rile up the crowd in a negative way. You've previously mentioned so many times when crowds boo a player in the IPL, that they should remember these are Indian players and we need to respect them. The same should be reciprocated. Friendly banter from the players (see Ishan's post on insta today) is great, but when a fan base is reeling and is in a heart wrenching moment, for a player of Ishan's stature to gesture this way is not at all acceptable. Virat did the same in our last league game in 2024. Now Ishan.
We are all emotionally invested in our teams, we need to get a life (sad but true)...I agree. But isn't this what drives the engagement and viewership for the game and if a beloved player like Virat or Ishan, so openly diss the fans, it is very hard to take it on the chin and smile...
@bprasadps@VikkashAnalyst It's not right. But at the end of the day, franchise owners are making money but fans are fighting. Ishan may play for CSK after some years, you never know. Then the same CSK fans will support him. IPL runs on high only when fans are passionate about their franchise. All business
@wvraman@ChennaiIPL The think tank seemed more keen on winning arguments than games. They needed to take hard and quick calls with Karthik and Prashanth Veer. Replacement for Ellis was also injured at the time, yet they wanted only Spencer. Rutu's spinner phobia from game 1 of 2024 season...so on
Injuries notwithstanding, did #CSK underestimate themselves or did they not go the extra mile during this season?
What was it?
Would like the @ChennaiIPL fans to chip in here!

@elonmusk What if we introduced time-locked messages on X. Of course for security reasons. Grok would have full access to it and will be able to detect messages with malicious or harmful intent, but to the rest of the world this could be a timed release - music launches, game predictions, trailer drops etc. This could easily be monetized and also drive memberships and engagements on the platform. Please consider Elon.
@panaimarams Fleming and Rutu seem to prioritize winning the arguments as against winning games - persisting with Kartik and Veer this season and persisting with the holy trinity last season are classic examples.
@Geminimcube7 My friend - whistles, horns, vuvuzellas etc. have been used in several games, including international matches before. But for a player of Ishan's stature to gesture back to the crowd, is not on, is what I was saying.
@bprasadps Blowing loud whistles you call it respect ?? In football, if a crowd treats a player like that, they get the exact same energy right back. Ishan did absolutely nothing wrong.
@dinu_disho Dear Friend - Barbs between players is one thing, but for a player of Ishan's stature to gesture to the crowd this way is not acceptable, is what I was pointing to...
@prasannalara Sir, such ungracious behavior by Ishan today after the win. Disgusted today...I know you will always take the high road, but beyond the loss, this behavior needs to be addressed.
