In order for people to help you, make them feel like they're helping themselves first. This is one of the best lessons I've learned in marketing. This extends in many ways, for example: ➛ Have you ever noticed a video with an obvious error and all comments are laughing at that one mistake? Newsflash ➛ Error is done on purpose. Why? ➛ The post gets more comments and goes viral. Now let's look into a real case scenario we applied this lesson to: ➛ When we were organising the biggest poker event in web3 @bptiw3, we needed a way to get the 100 projects we partnered with to promote the event. We knew most would be hesitant to post a random visual. This is when I got my designer to create custom artwork for each of the partners, with their logo being LARGE in the middle. This made them feel more important. What was the result? ➛ Almost all the projects tweeted it out. The lesson learned here was: We wanted them to help us (by tweeting and promoting the event) In order for us to get them to help us, we made them feel like they were helping themselves. How? ➛ Creating an artwork with their logo in large in the middle makes them look like one of the main hosts of the event. It also puts them in a good light to their community. Therefore instead of getting them to post this: We instead created 100 custom designs for every partner with their logo in the centre in large, and they posted that out.
