The CONVERT trial randomized mesorectal fascia–negative patients to neoadjuvant CAPOX vs ChTR 3-year local control: 96.3% vs 97.4%. Non-inferiority was not formally met ⚠️ DFS/OS were similar between arms. Long-term toxicity favored ChT alone. @DrTarekArab @DrLKVaughan I’ve worked in the US and had a fantastic time whilst there. Just pointing out differences in statistics coverage and health care cover which make a difference to how our stats appear. Still plenty for us to do though

@DrTarekArab @DrLKVaughan As every patient is discussed in the UK, our stats include every diagnosis whereas the US doesn’t. Plus in US outside big centres patients may still be treated by general surgeons with no specialty. We have access to less drugs but no medical debt. pros and cons to both systems

@DrLKVaughan Funny enough in North America, consultants are trusted to know what to do for their patients and to know when to ask for a discussion.And what a surprise,their cancer outcomes are better then the UK mdt approach would suggest.
