That's how we found our AI adoption starting point. The question wasn't whether our team could use AI. It was whether anything they built with it would survive them.

💡 We had individual AI capability. We had zero organizational AI capability. Almost nobody talks about the gap between those two things.

👀 Are you behind on AI, or are you unsupervised? Before we built anything formal, I started asking our team how they are actually using AI?

🤔 The governance question in front of us: how do you set usage expectations before someone burns $500 in a week doing exactly what you asked them to do?

💸 Uber burned its entire 2026 AI budget in 4 months. The tool worked; that's the problem. This isn't a cautionary tale about AI. It's a tale about running new infrastructure inside an old financial architecture — and not knowing what "right-sized" looks like!

Motivation gets a lot of credit. The problem is that motivation isn’t built to last. Consistency isn’t loud. Most days, it doesn’t even feel productive. Early on, it doesn’t feel like momentum at all. It feels like returning without making a big deal about it.

If running isn’t your thing, you’re not behind. Walking to fitness is an option. Sometimes the simplest path is the sustainable one.

Motivation gets a lot of credit—but it’s not what actually keeps things going. Consistency matters more than feeling inspired because how progress is usually quieter than we expect. bradgerlach.substack.com/p/the-myth-of-…

Celebrated #Christmas2025 a week late due to the flu. Opened a 2018 Mascot for the special Christmas water! 🍷 Went well with the turkey, stuffed turkey leg, football, Nitendo bowling, and everything else through out the day. #wine #NewYear2026

Today’s #Christmas water was supposed to be something different, but the flue postponed the family dinner. I still needed a special 🍷 tonight, and damn @penfolds Baby Grange didn’t disappoint - can’t imagine what Bin 95 is like!
