Iron Man 3 turns 13 today. Not one of Marvel’s best, but it delivers one of cinema’s all-time great cameos: Ben Kingsley as Trevor Slattery. The perfect irony: one of the world’s finest actors playing a guy whose peak is being dubbed “the toast of Croydon” for King Lear. 🤣

Recasting would be perfectly fine, so long as they look like the characters and are great actors. No casting Cynthia Erivo or Debra Wilson, hunter schafer as Leia, or mae Martin as Luke, or any variation there of. Just do sensible casting that is faithful to the original casting and very few would take issue with it, but Hollywood can’t help themselves. Or use ai to bring them back looking like they did in their hay day. Would need consent of their estate tho for some. We’re years away from this, so by the time they get around to it (if ever) people will be more comfortable with ai versions of actors. Conversely, if they don’t make it, some fans will take it upon themselves to just make the whole thing with ai.🤷‍♂️

All the people saying that Lucasfilm should de-canonize the Sequel Trilogy and make the Zahn trilogy as movies need to explain how you're supposed to make a movie set five years after Return of the Jedi with Luke, Han, and Leia still as young as they were at the end of ROTJ without recasting (which they'd reject), without CGI/AI (which they'd reject), and in live action in 2026.

How Disney can save the Star Wars franchise in two simple steps: 1) Declare that Kathleen Kennedy's sequel trilogy is non-cannon. 2) Replace it with Timothy Zahn's trilogy.

@TheStingisBack I think it should EITHER try to be true OR just clearly be out to tell an entertaining story. “Real guy on Titanic was not actually an asshole” is different than “Bill & Ted did not kidnap Joan of Arc and Genghis Khan.”
