FUN FACT FRIDAY: Potter is the third Polk State Baseball centerfielder to earn FCSAA All-Defensive honors in four years Over Head Coach Al Corbeil's 16 years at the helm for Polk State Baseball, the Eagles have had talent at virtually every position. Over the last four seasons, however, perhaps no position has been more shored up -- at least defensively -- than centerfield. Last week, freshman Bradyn Potter was named to the FCSAA All-Defensive Team. In addition to a stellar year at the plate in which he led the Eagles in batting average (.379), on-base percentage (.494), slugging (.538), hits (74), runs scored (61) and stolen bases (20), Potter finished with a perfect fielding percentage while adding four outfield assists. Last season, Polk State's Jordan Thomas was named FCSAA Defensive Player of the Year for his efforts out in centerfield. In 2023, Nelson Taylor earned an FCSAA Gold Glove. Thomas and Taylor would both go on to earn national recognition for their play out in centerfield with a Rawlings Gold Glove. Potter hopes to add his name to that list as well. Under Corbeil, five Polk State players have won Rawlings Gold Gloves. The 2026 NJCAA Gold Glove winners will be announced in June.
