Solidarity with residents and workers in Glasgow who have shut down the Thrales factory this morning! ✊🇵🇸
Thrales is a weapons manufacturer involved in the production of the WK450 drone used to indiscriminately kill Palestinians.

@JoeyFrances @mautweets2u breaking my shitposting to say thank u for this - feels like its just the visible promotion that is critiqued, rather than the whole presupposition of 'oh how will people who need to read your important words find it and be grateful?'
English

@mautweets2u like, all we're ever doing is striving to be one of a small number of famous poets, so people will validate us as individuals... no conception that you might share your work & cultivate the work of others in mutual generosity, & find readers through that two-way process..
English

keep seeing this & honestly its horizons are so narrow like what if you want to share your work primarily in a context of mutually supporting communities of readers & writers

i used to think self-promotion was a really icky concept & practice, until i realized that the actual self-centered thing is to believe that people will just flock to your work (based on talent/"merit") without you having to say anything about it/support readers in finding it
