Though Mount Everest is the highest mountain above sea level, it is not technically the tallest mountain. That honor belongs to Hawaii's Mauna Kea. Base-to-peak, Mauna Kea is 10,210m (33,500 ft) tall, but only 4,205m (13,796 ft) of that is above sea level.

TIL Thomas Edison did not actually invent the lightbulb. Though Edison did land the patent for the lightbulb in 1880, the actual inventor was British astronomer and chemist Warren de la Rue. De la Rue created the first lightbulb 40 years earlier.
