In the midst of all the planning for #COVID_19 in the uk. A big thank you to all the admin teams in the #NHS putting in the extra work with rescheduling appointments and answering patient queries. Often forgotten but vital. #coronaUK #coronavirus

Unai Emery does things that no other #AVFC manager has ever done in my lifetime. Villa don’t win those kind of games like that. He is the messiah.

@Burnt2020 @sib313 @ShaunLintern @wesstreeting I would really hope so, i am no longer in the NHS but for the first rounds we certainly popped out and sorted out tea, coffee etc. Equally i am sure there will be plenty very busy on the day trying to help out

At NHS Providers just now @wesstreeting delivered tough attack on the BMA and resident doctor leaders ahead of the 5-day strike starting this week. He said the BMA is "increasingly behaving in cartel-like behavior" and puts NHS at risk. Received a spontaneous applause from crowd.

@ShaunLintern I fear this will become more frequent as more trusts are updating IT systems (which they need) yet we have stripped out all the delivery/operational roles needed to manage switches on this scale.

"The Trust has implemented a new Electronic Patient Record (EPR) at the weekend and issues with the technical roll out of the product has added to the ability to manage the current levels of pressure."
Nottingham University Hospitals@nottmhospitals

We have declared a Critical Incident due to sustained pressures across the Trust, in particular in A&E. Please only use our A&E in a life-threatening accident or emergency, using other services such as GPs, NHS111 and pharmacies in all other cases.

I’m hearing @NHSE has pulled the plug on reorganisation as it can’t fund the redundancies . Ouch!

@sib313 Do you think there is a bit of an issue between everything and every role coming under the umbrella of “management” a lot of the angst I see on here is legitimate but should be directed to the most senior levels or national leaders not your general service manager types

@ShaunLintern Almost as if implementing ideas based on old tropes without a plan isn’t a good one….

Sir Keir Starmer’s plan to overhaul the NHS has been thrown into chaos after no money has been set aside to cover the costs of making thousands of redundancies at ICBs thetimes.com/article/14b7f9…

@isitsleepytime Regardless of one’s views on PAs etc- the handling of this situation by their leadership has been really really poor, certainly not helping any potential relations

@AliJaneMoore A slight aside but external contract management is done really poorly in the NHS, no surprise things like this go overlooked. This story is just awful

Alison Moore @alijanemoore also on Bluesky
Trusts should want to know about a range of offences committed by contractors who have access to their premises - from fraud to arson to assault. They need to know that the companies employing them have carried out these checks and acted accordingly. 3/3

Having now skim read the 360 pages of the latest David Fuller report I am surprised there is not more about working with contractors, including those from PFI firms. Nor is there an explicit recommendation on DBS checks. Both were important elements in the Fuller case 1/3

@HMAnderson39 Not much you can do, have to keep things safe and assume. Big trusts where you may be able to stand up a few lists safely i have seen cross speciality/consultant discussion with MD, decision on what goes ahead/has clinical priority.

Last week Times reported on NHS England assessment of last year's strikes, including cancelled cancer ops and heart surgery. Interested to hear from resident docs and NHS managers about this - can it be avoided in future strike action? thetimes.com/uk/healthcare/…
