Edmonton police have arrested a 21-year-old Toronto man in connection with a phone scam targeting Edmontonians, where suspects posed as bank representatives and convinced victims to hand over their bank cards to a driver sent to their home. The cards were later used for unauthorized purchases and cash withdrawals. Cheng-Tso (Josh) Huang faces a fraud charge and remains in custody ahead of an April 7 court date in Edmonton. EPS says the scheme was active throughout Edmonton over the past month and investigators are still working to identify additional suspects. Anyone who believes they were victimized is urged to contact their bank immediately and report the incident to police.

NEW: A man is facing multiple assault charges after another man suffered serious, life-threatening injuries in an attack inside the Royal Alexandra Hospital emergency room on Friday evening. Edmonton police say patrol officers who were already at the hospital intervened in a fight between two men around 6:15 p.m., and three edged weapons were found on the accused during a search. The suspect also faces two counts of failing to comply with probation. No other patients or staff were injured.

On the Margins: * Shifting Budget Priorities: The Pentagon is reassessing its priorities based on lessons learned from current conflicts (including the Ukraine war and the current escalation in the Middle East). The focus is now shifting more toward "Unmanned Aerial Systems" (drones), hypersonic weapons, and Artificial Intelligence, rather than pumping tens of billions into a costly manned fighter that may be vulnerable to advanced air defenses (as we are currently witnessing with the downing of the F-15 and A-10). * Inter-Service Politics: There is always a budget struggle between the Air Force (USAF), which is developing its own sixth-generation program (NGAD), and the Navy (US Navy), which owns the (F/A-XX) program. Congress often leans towards cutting dual funding for similar programs. * Technological Development Challenges: Sixth-generation programs face unprecedented engineering and technological challenges (advanced stealth, AI integration, lasers). The Pentagon prefers to hold off and not commit massive funding before ensuring the viability of the underlying technologies (Risk Mitigation). In short, the Pentagon believes that future wars will not be decided by exorbitant manned fighters, but by cheaper, unmanned weapons with high firepower and density—a lesson Washington seems to be learning the hard way right now.

Third: The Lebanon Meat Grinder... The "Buffer Zone" as Israel's New Nightmare * The Resilience of "Radwan" (Weapons Economy): Israel now realizes that Hezbollah is applying a "weapons economy" strategy to prolong the war for months. Firing 200 rockets daily (70% of which are aimed at crushing ground forces) prevents the Israeli army from stabilizing in any area. * The Escalating Israeli Dispute: The contradiction between Netanyahu's statements (disarming the party) and army officers' admissions (disarming is impossible, we settle for pushing them back 4 km) reflects the depth of the crisis. Yedioth Ahronoth's admission that Hezbollah has shown "rapid development" (especially with suicide drones) confirms that the resistance still holds the keys to tactical initiative (the operation sniping two soldiers in Rashaf confirms the capacity for precise engagement). Fourth: The "Embassies Equation" and Targeting Infrastructure * The Terrifying Warning: Following Israel's targeting of petrochemical plants in Mahshahr (southwestern Iran) and its repeated attempts to export the crisis, the "Khatam al-Anbiya" headquarters issued a stark warning: "Any targeting of our embassies will make Israel's embassies in the region legitimate targets." This threatens to open a front of intelligence and diplomatic warfare in regional capitals. * The Technological Blindness Continues: The complete service outage of Amazon's AWS region in Bahrain (despite some downplaying the financial impact) constitutes a severe blow to confidence in the stability of Western cloud services in the Middle East, which is Iran's true goal (expelling technological influence). Executive Summary: What Lies Beyond the "Hostage Dilemma"? We are entering the "phase of imposing Iranian terms": * The United States: Trump is in an existential predicament. His pilots are being shot down, his generals are rebelling, and his European allies are closing their airspace. America is no longer capable of military decisiveness, and statements about "destroying 2-4 km in Lebanon" are merely Israeli compensation for American failure. * The Axis of Resistance: Continues to bleed the enemy. Iran's refusal of a 48-hour ceasefire (on American terms) and its refusal to meet American officials in Pakistan confirm that Tehran is not looking for a "breathing space truce," but rather a "comprehensive agreement" that ends the war on its terms. Strategic Forecast Washington will intensify search and rescue operations (perhaps with commando operations) in an attempt to recover the pilot before he becomes a public blackmail card in Tehran's hands. Should it fail, Trump will be forced either into a "blind" escalation with uncalculated consequences or to succumb to international mediation that offers massive concessions to Iran. In Lebanon, limited Israeli incursion attempts will continue, met with more ambushes and the destruction of Merkava tanks, further deepening the internal crisis within the entity.

Day 36: POWs, Pilots, and Dismissals... Washington Reels Under "Day After" Blows, and Tehran Breaks the Siege with Negotiation Oil! — Talal Nahle Strategic and Geopolitical Assessment (Saturday - April 4, 2026 | Day 36 of the War): Today, we arrive at a scene Washington could not have imagined in its worst nightmares. Day 36 does not merely tell a story of mutual bombardment, but rather a story of "imperial erosion." America, which brought its fleet to topple the Iranian regime, finds itself today scouring the deserts of Iran in search of its pilots downed by Iranian air defense missiles. Simultaneously, Tehran is executing a masterful "geopolitical engineering," buying Europe's silence and the closure of its airspace to American bombers in exchange for a few oil tankers crossing the Strait of Hormuz. Meanwhile, in Tel Aviv, the "buffer zone plan" is gradually turning into a "death trap," while the entity faces a terrifying Iranian warning: striking Iranian embassies means the end of Israeli diplomacy in the region. Here is an in-depth, interconnected breakdown of the events of this pivotal day: First: The American Drama... "Pilots in the Guards' Grip" and Trump's Collapse * The F-15 and A-10 Scandal: Confirmation by CNN and leaks from Axios regarding the downing of an F-15E fighter and an A-10, in addition to an American Black Hawk helicopter being damaged during search operations, represents a shattering of the US Air Force's prestige. Iran is not only downing drones, but it is also downing and damaging the latest American fighters (7 manned aircraft so far). * Rescue Operation or Trap?: American attempts to rescue the pilots (via C-130 aircraft and special forces) have turned into a predicament. The announcement of rescuing one and searching for the other (who may be in the custody of the Revolutionary Guards) places Trump before a genuine "hostage" crisis. This incident dismantles all his rhetoric about "destroying Iranian air defenses." * Trump's Internal Collapse: A CNN poll showing Trump's approval rating among independents is 10 points lower than Nixon's just before his resignation confirms that the American public has completely lost faith in a war that brings nothing but casualties and exorbitant gas prices. Trump is now fighting harder to stay in the White House than he is fighting to topple the regime in Tehran. * The Pentagon Rebels: An American military official describing (to Axios) the dismissal of the Army Chief of Staff during wartime as "madness" confirms the ongoing fragmentation within the military establishment, which rejects Trump's suicidal plans. Second: Tehran's Cunning... "Buying Europe with Hormuz Oil" * The Knockout Diplomatic Blow: Newsweek magazine revealed secret agreements between Iran and five European countries (France, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, and Spain). Tehran permitted the passage of oil tankers (like the French vessel, the Japanese gas tanker, and the 3 Omani ships) in exchange for these countries closing their airspace to US forces. * Dismantling the Western Camp: Tehran has succeeded with a "drop of oil" where Washington failed with "tons of bombs." It has strategically isolated America, proving that its control over Hormuz has become a peaceful "negotiation weapon" with those who refuse to get involved, and a sword hanging over the necks of its enemies. (Macron's statement about France planning a "peaceful operation" is an acknowledgment of this reality).

The Edmonton Police Service has issued a public safety warning about a convicted child sex offender set to be released into Edmonton. Alfred David White, 39, was convicted of sexual offences against children in Calgary in 2020, followed by additional convictions in 2021 for child pornography possession while on interim release, and again in 2024 for possessing and uploading child pornography along with breaching a prohibition order. His total sentences across three conviction cycles include a 27-month term handed down in early January 2024. Upon release, White will reside in Edmonton under court-imposed conditions, including a ban from parks, schools, playgrounds, recreation centres, libraries, and any location where children under 16 are present. He is prohibited from any contact with anyone under 16 and must live at an approved residence. EPS states it has reasonable grounds to believe White poses a high risk of reoffending.

Iranians opened fire on USAF helicopters as they were searching today for the crew of the F-15 aircraft that Iran had shot down. The Washington Post also reported, citing U.S. officials, that military personnel aboard two helicopters were injured after coming under Iranian fire during the search-and-rescue operation.

Fourth: "True Promise" (Waves 91, 92, 93)... Total Destruction The latest statement from "Khatam al-Anbiya" serves as a terrifying "reckoning" for the Western alliance: * Militarily in the Gulf: Bombing the staging area of American amphibious vessels in Shuwaikh (Kuwait) and destroying a strategic early warning radar (AR-327) in Jebel Al Dukhan, Bahrain. America is losing its landing capabilities and its early-warning eyes. * Militarily in Israel (Multi-Warhead Khorramshahr): Bombing the Ramat David base and more than 50 sites in Tel Aviv using multi-warhead Khorramshahr missiles, alongside targeting Haifa and the Krayot. * Drone Messages: The IRGC inscribed a message on a Shahed-136 drone: "Going for talks in Tel Aviv." This is the practical Iranian response to American attempts to force humiliating negotiations in Pakistan (which Iran rejected, informing mediators it was a dead end). Fifth: The Lebanon Dilemma... The "Northern Mud" and the Collapse of the Decisiveness Theory * Yedioth Ahronoth's Confession (Avi Issacharoff): The Israeli expert admits that Netanyahu is selling "illusions." Hezbollah has proven to be "the most powerful organization," and Israel has failed to crush its missile stockpile. * The Engineers' Shock: An Israeli engineering battalion commander confessed: "It's a complex mission, and we do not know how the soldiers will get out of there." Israel went in to clear 4 km, as its media claimed, only to find itself drowning in point-blank IEDs and ambushes that destroyed 138 of its tanks (out of a total of 166 vehicles). * The Flight of the Americans: The US Embassy's call for its citizens to leave Lebanon immediately is an acknowledgment that the Lebanese arena is heading toward greater escalation, and that Washington cannot protect them if the war expands. Conclusion for the Leadership: What's Next After the Dismissals and Pilot Captures? We are witnessing "the fall of American prestige by a knockout blow": * The United States: The White House announced a "media blackout" until 1:00 PM Washington time. This "terrifying silence" reflects the sheer magnitude of the shock. Trump is trapped between a pilot who might fall into captivity (a massive leverage card for Iran), rebellious generals, and an international coalition refusing to fight his war. * The Axis of Resistance: Achieved a strategic and psychological victory today. The religious authority (Ayatollah Javadi Amoli) has called for "general mobilization," meaning Iran is preparing for a long-term ground war should Trump act recklessly. Strategic Forecast for the Dawn Hours: If Iran manages to capture the second American pilot (after the first was allegedly rescued, per Axios), Trump will face a "hostage crisis" that will obliterate whatever remains of his political chances. The US administration will use the "media blackout" either to prepare for a blind, uncalculated retaliatory strike, or—more likely—to make dramatic, secret concessions via Oman and Pakistan to recover its pilot and end the disaster before it turns into a "second Vietnam" broadcast live on air.

Day Thirty-Five: The Insult of the "Golden Eagle" over Qeshm... Saudi Arabia Slips into War, and Tehran Hunts Pilots and Fleets on the "Friday of Hell"! — Talal Nahle Comprehensive Strategic and Geopolitical Assessment (Friday - April 3, 2026 | Evening of the 35th Day of the War): As we close the thirty-fifth day, the strategic landscape represents the Pentagon's worst nightmare since the Vietnam War. The United States is no longer merely facing "missile barrages," but a deadly plunge into a quagmire that is bringing down its most advanced fighter jets, capturing its pilots, and destroying its technological infrastructure (Amazon and Oracle) in the Gulf. Today, as the US Secretary of Defense fires 12 generals who refused "ground suicide," Saudi Arabia officially enters the ring of fire (secretly) by refueling American fighter jets. Meanwhile, Tehran announces the "hunting" of parachuting American pilots, downing an F-15 and an A-10, and striking a Black Hawk rescue helicopter! I present to you this deconstruction of the evening of "Bloody Friday," which has shattered the pride of Western technology: First: "Massacre of the Sky" and the Pilot Rescue Scandal * The Fall of the Air Superiority Myth: Losing 3 aircraft in a single day (an F-15, an A-10 "tank-killer," and a Black Hawk rescue helicopter) is a military earthquake. The A-10 that went down south of Qeshm and the aircraft shot down in central Iran (bearing the tail code "SP" from Spangdahlem Air Base) prove that Iran's skies have become "forbidden" to fourth-generation fighters, despite Trump's claims of having destroyed Iranian air defenses. * The Capture Race (Ground Sweeps): The crossing of American C-130s and Black Hawk helicopters into Iranian territory to rescue the pilots (one of which was hit) was met with rapid ground sweeping operations by the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC). America, which sought "regime change," now finds itself begging to rescue a pilot who parachuted into the heart of Iran! Parliament Speaker Qalibaf bitterly mocked: "From overthrowing the regime to... can anyone find our pilots?" Second: Secret Saudi Involvement and Pentagon Rebellion * Jeddah's Involvement (The Radar Secret): The takeoff of two Saudi refueling tankers from Jeddah to join a wave of 6 American aerial refuelers is a dangerous strategic development. Saudi Arabia, which claimed neutrality, is now sliding into providing direct logistical support for the war. This places Aramco and Saudi infrastructure directly in the target bank of "True Promise." * Tsunami of Dismissals (Hegseth's Madness): The dismissal of 12 generals (including Randy George, Chief of Staff of the Army) by the Secretary of Defense (the Fox News anchor) confirms what we indicated earlier: the professional military leadership refuses to obey Trump's orders for a ground invasion (temporary or permanent), considering it suicide. This has forced Trump to purge the Pentagon at the height of the war. Third: The "Technology and Corridors" Equation... America's Dual Blinding * Striking the Digital Cloud: The "Khatam al-Anbiya" headquarters' confirmation of the destruction of servers for Amazon (AWS) in Bahrain and Oracle in the UAE establishes a new kind of deterrence. Tehran is stating clearly: assassinating our leaders via AI will cost you your digital economy. * Siege of the Corridors: Despite Macron's statements about sending a peacekeeping force, and despite Britain's announcement of deploying air defenses in Kuwait, the Strait of Hormuz is effectively closed (400 ships are detained). Targeting the port of Fujairah with drones and striking Emirati and Bahraini aluminum factories proves that there is no alternative corridor and no safe Gulf economy without Iranian approval.
