@danoj22 Of course. I’m happy to see all sides. Makes us all smarter lol! I genuinely treat this space as tho I was talking face to face so I respect that everyone has a viewpoint. In the end we all just want our teams to do well and win. Thats where the joy is sport dwells.

@brandon_felder Agreed. I have to say, I enjoy talking with you here. You are one of the few people who you can have a disagreement with and you talk it out and listen. You don't go straight to insults to make your point.

If the #Preds wait this long and then hire Fitzgerald it just legit paints them as an unserious franchise. The past has never ultimately won. They have to find a totally new approach to find success in the modern game.

@danoj22 It appears that everyone vocal outside the organization doesn’t have him as the top choice. That for me is part of the optics problem. I don’t know if upset is the right word but I would be very disheartened about the future. Of course I’d be very happy to be wrong in that case

@brandon_felder I can get that. To be clear, I am not hoping it is him either. I just wouldn't be too upset if it were. My personal choice would be Peterson or White with maybe someone with past experience to bounce things off of. Not sure we will get that though.

@danoj22 Fair enough that his approach could be different than Poile and Trotz. I think the bigger picture for me and others is that we want to see something new. Something that doesn’t feel or appear like the same old song. Of the finalists he’s the one that’s mostly that feeling.

@brandon_felder If the problem is his track record, that arguement I get. I just don't agree that he is just going to do it the same way because of his time here. He did some good things in NJ and did it very differently than it was done here. I will agree it didn't all work for him.

@danoj22 The whole point of this is they needs to find a new way that can build to being a contender year in and year out. Not middling. As the GM the results have been middling for Fitzgerald. All success has been as an AGM for the franchise that had a generational player.

@danoj22 That said, what in Fitzgeralds brief track record as a GM shows he can get a franchise to the next level? No division titles for NJ since 2020. Made the 2nd Round once. The Preds are in a doom cycle of either just missing Playoffs or getting bounced in 1st sometimes 2nd round.
