That number was immediately baked into the line. The Magic should be about a 1.5 point favorite here with everyone active. The adjustment just made it unplayable for me. The Magic have had trouble covering big numbers. It’s a pass for me. I like Bane o19.5 points though. Appreciate the feedback, always happy to talk these things through.

@BrandonKravitz how come you’re not on any Magic ATS or ML today? TWolves have no incentive to start players after Suns lose last night. Am I missing something? Enjoy listening to you on Buckets

The Magic have moved up to the 8-spot temporarily with the Hornets loss to the Celtics tonight. The Hornets melted down the stretch of that game. A good reminder that as impressive as they've been, they are not quite there yet.

@BrandonKravitz And that is why you never see videos of fans fighting in the stands in Denver, everyone chill having a great time.

I would venture to say that fantasy and prop betting specifically has dampened the appreciation for the nuance of the games, not sports betting as a whole. I think if you hyper focus on a player or players, you lose sight of the bigger picture. But if you are betting sides, money lines, or totals - I would suggest those individuals actually have an enhanced appreciation for nuance.

@BrandonKravitz Can you place any validity in the argument that sports gambling and fantasy sports have led to less understanding and appreciation of the nuance of the actual games ?

Interesting article, one that's received a lot of push back from the sports betting community, and rightfully so. There was a clear agenda going into this "experiment" which immediately discredits it to a certain degree. Anyone who feels like they need to hide while placing wagers clearly has a problem. I have found that going the other way with it, with a small child in my house has been greatly beneficial. Showing my 6-year old son what I do and how I derive my numbers has helped him learn math at a young age, its something I'm quite proud of. And then when he's old enough to place bets on his own, if that's something he wants to do, it won't be so secretive and shady. I think teaching literacy about wagering and being open and honest about sports betting is a better way forward. It's not going anywhere, and acting like your calling your bookie in the bathroom every time you want to place a bet isn't necessary anymore. Of course, if you have a problem, you should seek help. But if you have a good relationship with sports betting, there's no reason to be ashamed of it.

“It only took a few weeks before I was hiding in the kitchen pantry to put my bets in, so my kids didn’t see how much I was gambling”: @TheAtlantic gave @mckaycoppins $10,000 as part of his investigation into online sports gambling — and he came out with far less money and some insight into how gamblers get hooked on apps like FanDuel and DraftKings.

@himidaddy @MoEgger People lack self control because they are not taught self control. I believe if we are armed with that at a young age, we'd all be better off. I was not and most were not. I was self-taught and those lessons suck.

@BrandonKravitz @MoEgger I could be wrong. Not saying I’m right, again just stating my opinion based on what I see in public and in my life. I’m curious when you’d talk it. 15? 16? Shoot, at this point 12-13?

Anthony Black's transition game makes a world of difference for the Magic. 12 turnovers for Detroit in the first half for 20 Magic points. Detroit playing like a team that knows they've locked up the conference.
