@black99bw He is seeing freaking ghosts. And I’m about to have a heart attack

@GamblinGauchos Thank you guys for continuing to be a voice of reason and perspective in a sea of emotion and overreaction. It was a fun season and we’ve come a helluva long way in a few short years.

Initial postgame reactions have settled a bit. Hat tip to Oregon; they were deserving winners today. The offense was obviously a disappointment but the defense proved it was among the very best in the nation.
Only one team gets to be national champs every year, and it obviously won’t be Texas Tech for 2025. Still, the greatest team in Red Raider history achieved a hell of a lot:
• Big 12 Champions
• 12-win season, all by 22+ points
• Three wins vs. Top 15 teams
• Four wins vs. 10+ win teams
• Four All-Americans
• Nagurski Trophy
• Bednarik Award
• Butkus Award
• Lombardi Award
• Wins on Big Noon Kickoff and College Gameday
• Power 4 CCG attendance record
We got to watch individual players turn into legends, future first round NFL Draft picks, the best player in college football, and the most dominant defense in Big 12 history.
Special season. Proud as hell and thankful to everyone who made it happen. How can you not be excited about the trajectory of this program?
West Texas forever #WreckEm

@black99bw I’m not sure what adjustments we make. Oregon is getting to us so fast. Can’t run the ball and WR’s cannot get into their routes. Behren panicking back there. Not good. Need to get something going immediately though because the defense cannot be on the field that much again
English

@black99bw I’m right there with you. Huge game and it is two very good teams for sure.
English

@black99bw Our defense is going to show up. Even if the offense takes a bit to get going we still have dudes getting off the bus on the defensive side of the ball.

Theres been so much focus on the money it took to get Texas Tech into the College Football Playoff, it’s easy to forget they have a coach.
His name is Joey McGuire and it’s time to give him his flowers.

3rd conference seriously could be a best of the ACC/Big 12
- 20 top football schools
- Academic alignment
- Geographically balanced

Industry forecasters are warning conference leaders that there is only going to be big money for three conferences in the next negotiation window. 60 to 70 teams are going to get tier one TV money. Everyone else is getting scraps.
English

@WreckEmMatt @RyanMainville I think the expectations this year are to contend for a top one or two seed and competent against AZ and UH to win the big 12. I think a game like this does affect seeding potentially. Now I’m not “season’s over” guy if we lose, but I’m talking specific to this year’s plan

Three key areas of the game tonight vs. Wake Forest:
1) Who wins the glass?
TTU has a 40.3 OREB% (93rd Percentile) and averages 15 2nd-chance PPG (86th P). They have struggled on the defensive glass, allowing a 32.5 opp. OREB% and 12.3 2nd-chance PPG. WF is also a good offensive rebounding team, averaging a 37.5 OREB% (85th P) and 20.3 2nd-chance PPG (99th P).
2) Who controls the pace?
WF wants to play VERY fast and push the ball. They average 75 poss. per 40 mins (91st P), and 17 fast break PPG (90th P). TTU wants to play much slower and get in the half court, with a pace that ranks 306th in DI this year.
3) Who wins on the perimeter?
WF’s perimeter defense numbers this year have been impressive, holding opponents to a 23.1 3P% (97th P). But they haven’t faced an opponent that shoots as well as TTU, and WF has struggled to make threes themselves (32.7 3P%, 39.4 3PAr).
