I get that the Padres are right there in terms of a wild card spot but this team is not good. It pains me to say this as a padres fan but they have absolutely no shot at a world series this year even if they add some pieces at the deadline. They don’t have enough “wanted” prospects to make big moves that would vault this team into World Series contention. Preller needs to do the right thing and sell for once, and try to get this team rolling looking into the future rather than try to salvage this Machado era. It’s done.

Walker Kessler is a good fit for the Lakers but 2 unprotected 1sts AND 2 pick swaps is wild. Especially when that’s all of the lakers remaining tradeable draft assets, they pushed them all in for Kessler. It’s like the Jazz knew Pelinka was desperate & made LA pay the tax.

There has to be something big in the works for the Lakers that nobody knows about.. you don’t have the most cap space in the league and let important role players (smart & kennard) walk for no reason. Especially when those players only got $6 mil per year from other teams. Then you have guys like John Collins & Norman Powell signing with other teams while Lakers just sitting on that cap space. Either something big is about to happen for the Lakers or Pelinka is genuinely sleeping lol
