The Panthers defeated Rutgers Prep 10-5 in 8 innings on Thursday afternoon in Somerset to advance to the semifinals of the Somerset County Tournament. Cody Rible (pictured) made an incredible defensive play in the bottom of the 7th inning to send the game to extra innings. In the top of the 8th inning, a Josh Moore RBI double gave the Panthers the lead. Kellan Komline added a sac fly, and Michael Lobosco followed with a 3-run home run. Stephen Pikulin hit a 3-run home run in the 6th inning to tie the game at 5. Nick Spirra and Kevin Kelly both had 3 hits for the Panthers. Nico Moore threw 2 scoreless innings of relief to earn the win. Kellan Komline started and threw 6 solid innings, striking out 4. Komline now has 152 career strikeouts, which extends his school record for strikeouts in a career. The Panthers next play tomorrow as they host West Morris on Senior Day. First pitch is scheduled for 4:00pm. Senior Day ceremonies commence at 3:30pm.
