Every time I find something I love at @DairyQueen they get rid of it. Dreamsicle dipped cones? Gone. Mango misty slush? Gone. I’m scared to start loving something else on the menu now.

Sitting in the airport and so far the same man has: gotten on a zoom call on his laptop, sat in the middle of the walkway with his legs extended blocking over half of it, left his suitcase in the middle of the seating area, & now is FaceTiming someone on speaker phone.

to the shelter or distribution center, even just a warm hopeful hug or a listening ear. If you haven’t seen the generosity of this area, you are truly missing out. This has tugged at my heart since the floods hit. The flood was indescribable, but so was the love shown after.

To continue from my last tweets, I also am humbled and proud of our area. Too often you hear the negatives of small towns. However, as soon as the water started to rise, so did our small towns. People stepped up & in to help those in need. Food, clothing, physical labor, a ride

(2/2) I saw when we arrived in Hazard. The devastation, loss of items, homes, families, vehicles, schools. I can not imagine what the community went through that horrifying night. My heart still aches daily for them. I pray they get the support they need for years to come.

(1/2) I’ve worked multiple storms in my short 4yrs working in utilities. I’ve seen destruction of our facilities. I’ve seen trees destroying homes & cars.

When the event was over, many in our community stayed to fold chairs/pick up garbage. Everyone chipped in to do their part.
