Back to your regularly scheduled Android news... You can now root your Pixel Watch following a guide by @breaddisease, provided you get a special debug adapter that Google distributes "by invitation only." Installing Magisk on the Watch follows the same process as on phones.

@ajmeese7 @aj_0x00 @StackSmashing Thanks!!! This is my first one! Yeah thankfully the Pixel Watch is pretty straightforward (other than the cradle) as they let you unlock the bootloader

@breaddisease @aj_0x00 @StackSmashing I wish all rooting write-ups were this thorough and detailed! I've had some devices where I spent weeks trying to root them and just wasn't able to bypass the kernel protections like Knox

This weekend whilst I was at #hw_ioUSA2023 I was able to root the Google Pixel Watch with the help of @aj_0x00, @StackSmashing, and the Google team! I gained root access using a Magisk-patched boot image and a special cradle to interface with the USB pins under the wristband

@greyhathackr @aj_0x00 @StackSmashing The Google team at the Hardwear.io HardPwn hacking contest provided temporary use of them at the event!
